  | | | STATE OF ORIGIN Willie MASON
He became something of a cult figure in 2002 with his Afro hair style. But there was no denying his value as an impact player with his galloping runs and his ability to offload the ball. By using his huge frame to hit the advantage line, Willie marked himself as a Representative Player of the future. It didn't take him long to make his Representative debut against Great Britain in July 2002. Mason represented Australia again in the Test win against New Zealand in October that year. 2003 brought with it further recognition by way of a Anzac Test, State of Origin debut and a Kangaroo Tour. The towering forward became an automatic selection in the Australian Test team after NSW's dominance of State of Origin Series and is still to this day a permanent fixture in both NSW Origin and Australia Test Teams.
